Authors' Advisory
Readers
are advised to disregard entirely the Authors' Note and Appendix in
which case of a blind woman who purported to have an NDE is described.
This case, which came to our attention at the last moment, was provided
to us by another researcher, Dr. Tricia McGill, who is the only person
to investigate it. Subsequent to the publication of this book, however,
we discovered, to our chagrin, that this case has fraudulent aspects
and is not reliable. Dr. McGill, who offered this account to us in good
faith, now beleives she was deceived by the woman in question, and has
apologized to us for having inadvertently supplied us with an
untrustworthy report.
